The Lowcountry STEM Collaborative
SAIC is generously sponsoring a Lowcountry STEM Collaborative student logo and slogan competition! See the attached flier and the information below for details.
The Lowcountry STEM Collaborative strives to enhance education within our schools and encourages students to engage in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) is inviting students to participate in the Lowcountry STEM Collaborative Logo Competition. We ask that students brainstorm and create a logo and slogan that symbolizes the mission of the STEM Collaborative. The competition will include the following school districts: Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester Two and Dorchester Four.
The Lowcountry STEM Collaborative is currently developing an innovative website to market STEM and its involvement in the greater Charleston area. The Collaborative hopes to create an effective model for enhancing STEM learning in the region that specifically targets grades P-20 teachers and students. This is an opportunity for students in the Lowcountry to have their logo and slogan featured as the face of the Lowcountry STEM Collaborative. Teachers, please encourage your students to brainstorm and create a logo and slogan that represents the mission of STEM. Students may compete separately in the competition or you and your students can work together as a class to turn in a logo and slogan as a group. Please see guidelines below:
Contestants will be divided based on school level into three categories: 1. Elementary schools (K-5), 2. Middle Schools (6-8) and 3. High Schools (9-12).
