The Citadel offers technology course for teachers
The Lowcountry Writing Project at The Citadel will offer a three-graduate-hour course called “Literacy in a Digital Age” for tri-county teachers at all grade levels and in all subject areas. The course will cover a wide array of digital literacy topics and their classroom applications.
Sessions will meet from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday nights Sept. 4 through Dec. 11 at The Citadel. Participants will learn commonly used programs (MS Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher) and skills to enhance classroom instruction, such as using digital video, blogging, podcasting, and creating online communities.
The cost is $300. Additional information, including a complete list of topics, is available online at www.citadel.edu/writingproject. Teachers may apply online through Sept. 1. For more information, contact Tom Thompson at 843-953-1418.
