The Citadel Women's Club
The Citadel Women's Club (CWC), originally the Citadel Faculty Wives' Club, was organized in 1950 to promote social contact among the faculty and staff families and to support the interests of the Citadel. Today, the CWC consists of women employed by The Citadel or otherwise affiliated with The Citadel through their spouses.
The CWC has served The Citadel in many ways over the years. It has enhanced campus life by redecorating the waiting rooms of the infirmary and chapel, providing playground equipment for campus children, improving the campus' appearance by installing park benches in different locations, and decorating the front gate at Christmas.
The CWC includes the Charleston community in its philanthropic efforts as well and has participated in community service projects such as the Angel Tree program, monthly blood drives, care packages to overseas military, the Alzheimer Walk, and My Sister's House.
The CWC's most significant contribution has been to Cadet Scholarships which have been awarded annually since 1996. We are proud to say that numerous cadets with financial needs have benefitted. Between FY 2010 and FY 2013, alone, the CWC awarded $106,287 in scholarships.
