Corps Grad ’09
I am originally from Irmo, South Carolina, and I was a member of Oscar Company at The Citadel, majoring in physical education. I also played for The Citadel women's soccer team and the women's rugby club team. I currently live in North Charleston, South Carolina and work for the City of Charleston as an Athletic Coordinator. I am mainly out of our West Ashley branch, running their youth flag football, cheerleading, cross country, track and baseball programs.
What is your favorite memory from The Citadel?
Ring Day. That day stands out above the rest for a few reasons. Firstly, because we received our rings, but secondly, because that was also the day that The Citadel women's soccer team won our first conference game ever. It was amazing, and I will never forget that day.
How do you think your experience at The Citadel got you to where you are now?
The leadership and integrity that I learned have helped me become a leader in my job. Being able to work with others from all different backgrounds was also very helpful. Everyone learns life lessons in college, but The Citadel definitely helps to give you a head start in the work force.
Although the school can be very challenging, when you make it through, no one will ever be able to take away that time, those memories, and the lessons learned. No one ever said that The Citadel would be easy, but neither is life; there is no time like college to learn how to succeed.
