Corps Grad ’11

Kelly OliverI was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, and graduated from The Citadel with a bachelor’s in electrical engineering. I was in the Regimental Band and Pipes, choir, and the Afro-Am Society. I also played rugby and participated in numerous other activities while attending The Citadel. I'm currently working on a government contract doing failure analysis, and I love my job.

How do you think your experience at The Citadel got you to where you are now?
What my experience at The Citadel taught me was, to be patient and no matter what continue to push forward. There are going to be times that it seems like there's no end in sight or you can't do anything right. Stay motivated, the reward at the end of the tunnel is worth the fight.Kelly-Oliver-2

Why should young women consider attending The Citadel?
Young women should consider attending The Citadel for the camaraderie you find in classmates, faculty member, and organizations on campus. The support system of people you meet, and the encouragement is amazing. For every doubt you may have there are at least two people behind you telling you that you can.
