Elizabeth Stephenson

Veteran Day Students Grad ’15

Elizabeth StephensonI am originally from Greenville, South Carolina, and I majored in psychology with a minor in Chinese. I am currently getting my master's from American University in international relations, as well as waiting on active duty orders to move to intelligence school where I will be an Air Force intelligence officer. I hope to get my second master's through the Olmsted Scholars Program.

Read an article about Elizabeth’s study abroad experience.

What is your favorite memory from The Citadel?
My favorite memories from The Citadel were attending Chinese classes. I really enjoyed them, and they inspired my new love of Chinese. I am now in an advanced level and can read newspapers in Chinese. I was excited to be able to go to China with my language skills.

How do you think your experience at The Citadel got you to where you are now?
The professors I had and the opportunities that I found at The Citadel, like the Project Go scholarship, absolutely gave me critical skills that will help me as an intelligence officer. I felt that I got a lot of support from the faculty to be able to build a strong foundation of academic skills as well as situational skills to help me approach a variety of situations very effectively.
