Brigadier General Lori Reynolds

Brig. Gen. Reynolds was commissioned into the Marine Corps in 1986 after graduating from the United States Naval Academy. She then attended the Basic School and the Basic Communication’s Officer’s course at Quantico, VA. Her first assignment was as the communications watch officer at the Base Communications Center of the Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, CA. Later, she returned to the Division Communications Company where she served as Communication Center Platoon Commander, Multichannel Platoon Commander, Operations Officer, and Radio Officer. Next, she was assigned to Marine Wing Communications Squadron 18, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Okinawa, Japan and served both as the Executive Officer and Commanding Officer of Detachment Alpha. Her next assignment was as a Project Officer at the Marine Corps Systems Command, working on procurement and research and development.
Reynolds attended the Command and Control Systems Course, Marine Corps University; she served as a Candidate Platoon Commander at Officer Candidate School following graduation, both in Quantico, VA. Her next assignment took her back to Camp Pendleton, CA at the Ninth Communication Battalion, 1st Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Intelligence Group as a Company Assistant Operations Officer and Commanding Officer. Next, she commanded Recruiting Station Harrisburg PA, 4th Marine Corps District after which she attended the Naval War College. In June 2001 she was assigned as the Action Officer and Deputy Division Head for Strategic Plans Division, Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4) Department, Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington, DC.
Reynolds assumed command of Ninth Communication Battalion, I Marine Expeditionary Force in June, 2003, and was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II to Fallujah, Iraq. She attended the Army War College, graduating with the Class of 2006. Her next assignment was to Joint Staff, J6 in Washington, DC as a Desk Officer in Current Operations Division and as a Division Chief. In 2009 she assumed command of the I Marine Expeditionary Force, putting her again at Camp Pendleton, CA. The Group deployed to Camp Leatherneck Afghanistan to support efforts in Helmand Province. In June, 2011 Brig. Gen. Reynolds took command of Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island and Eastern Recruiting Region, where she continues to serve.
