Facilities and engineering finalists named

Three finalists have been named for the vice president of facilities and engineering at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.

Interviews will be conducted on campus Jan. 14 -17. Finalists are: 

  • Dr. G. Dewey Yeatts, chief facilities officer and associate vice-president for facilities management, Murray State University, Murray, Ky.
  • Carl Russell Postelwate, director of the physical plant, University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, Miss.
  • Col. Thomas Lee Koning, USA, Retired, senior vice-president of engineering and construction for Zapata Engineering, Charlotte, N.C.

The vice president of facilities and engineering oversees the college’s physical plant, construction management office, Public Safety and the Safety and Risk Management Office. In addition the position is responsible for coordinating with the S.C. Commission on Higher Education, the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control, and other federal, state, and local government and administrative bodies on matters associated with safety, environmental concerns, insurance, disaster relief, energy management, waste management, storm water management, physical security, facility operations and maintenance, and construction.

Col. Donald Tomasik, retired as vice president of facilities and engineering Dec. 31 after 13 years with the college.
