How can I get involved?
As a faculty member, the URO serves as a resource to support your research and the mentoring of undergraduate students. One way to get started is to sign up with The Citadel's ScholarBridge Account. It is a free, online tool where you can post your availability to mentor students as well as current projects you are conducting.
How does this benefit me?
As a faculty member, your time is limited but the URO is dedicated to working with the administration to advocate options that work for you, the student, and your department. Two examples may include accumulating time mentoring students and counting those hours toward a course load reduction to an extra service stipend.
Contact the URO for ways the office can support you and your student in this mentoring experience.
The Office of Undergraduate Research is excited to announce an exciting new partnership. ScholarBridge is a new tool to promote student and faculty involvement in academic research. ScholarBridge is an online network where professors can post their availability to mentor students. Student members can search the ScholarBridge database of professors and opportunities – at any point in their academic career - to find the right mentor and the research focus that they are most interested in actively pursuing. Start by going to www.scholarbridge.com and creating a free account.
