2011 S.C. Teacher of the Year coming to campus
The Citadel will host Teacher Cadet College Day and South Carolina Teacher of the Year Kelly Nalley on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, in the Greater Issues Room of Mark Clark Hall.

The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will include a variety of presentations and activities. Nalley, the 2011 South Carolina Teacher of the Year, will deliver the keynote address beginning at approximately 10:25 a.m. She is a Spanish teacher at Fork Shoals School in Greenville, S.C.
Teacher Cadets from Wando High School, James Island Charter High School, The Military Magnet Academy, St. Johns High School, and Beaufort High School, along with their teachers, will be in attendance. Education majors from the Corps of Cadets and professors in The Citadel School of Education will also participate.
The Teacher Cadet Program, targeting high school juniors and seniors, is one of several programs founded by the Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, and Advancement.
Established by the Commission on Higher Education in 1985, the CERRA is in its 25th year of operation and is the oldest and most established teacher recruitment program in the country.
The Citadel has been a Teacher Cadet College Partner to several area high schools for more than two decades.
