Dr. Kevin Harbol

harbol1Dr. Kevin Harbol, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from The Citadel in 1981. He then received a Master’s of Science in Chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1984. In 1990, he received a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Kentucky under the tutelage of Dr. Robert W. Kiser.

From there Dr. Harbol began a career in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries with the Burroughs Wellcome Company in Greenville, NC then with the Glaxo Wellcome Company in Research Triangle Park, NC. At Wellcome, he was part of the development teams for various regulatory submissions on VALTREX® (valacyclovir), WELLBUTRIN-SR® (bupropion), ZIAGEN® (abacavir), NIMBEX® (cis-atricurium besylate), AGENERASE® (amprenavir) and RETROVIR® (zidovudine) Pediatric. From Glaxo he worked briefly with PTRL, Inc., in Bothell, WA, a contract research organization and then signed on with Procter and Gamble Pharmaceuticals in Norwich, NY, in 1999, where he worked on the ASACOL® (mesalamine) 800 mg product. In 2001, Dr. Harbol accepted an Associate Director position at ICOS Corporation in Bothell, WA, where he was promoted to Director of Bioanalytical Analysis and Drug Metabolism. After the takeover of ICOS by Eli Lilly in 2007, Dr. Harbol accepted a position as Senior Group Leader, Mass Spectrometry and DMPK at Omeros Corporation in Seattle WA.
