About Spain Study Abroad
This program is a four-week intensive language and culture course. Students will be able to earn six credit hours towards their language requirement or apply the credits toward their major or minor in Spanish.
The courses are taught by native Spanish speakers and the institution we will be attending is very reputable. The name of the institute is Sampere and you can find out more by going to sampere.es online. Sampere has been teaching intensive language courses for the Citadel for almost 30 years and we have been very pleased with the outcome.
Students will be in class four hours a day, four days a week. It is equivalent to two courses and they will have a break in between the two classes. Classes will be held either in he morning or the evening depending upon availability.
FOOD AND LODGING:
Students are housed with Spanish families and will receive breakfast, lunch and dinner. Laundry service is also provided for the students. Each student will have a roommate and will share a bathroom.
Students will experience the essence of Spain through a series of excursions. Some excursions will be local within Madrid to museums, palaces and other culturally important locations. We will also be visiting locations outside Madrid, and there will be optional weekend trips to Barcelona and Córdoba.
