Dennis Fallon Steps Down: July 1, 2011

deanfallonDr. Dennis Fallon stepped down after eight years as the Citadel Dean of Engineering on 1 July 2011. He returned to the faculty to resume his first love, teaching structural engineering courses. Dr. Ronald W. Welch arrived at The Citadel in July to assume the duties as Dean of Engineering after being Chair of the new Civil Engineering department at the University of Texas at Tyler for almost 5 years. To celebrate the accomplishments of Dennis and to welcome Ron, a Hail and Farewell with the School of Engineering Advisory board was held on 22 September 2011 at the Harbor Club in Charleston, SC. The photo (also in the local newspaper, the Post and Courier) of (left to right) Dr. Johnston Peeples (Electrical Engineering Department Head), Dr. Ron Welch (New Dean of Engineering), Dr. Dennis Fallon (Outgoing Dean), and Dr. Kenneth Brannan (Civil Engineering Department Head) documents this wonderful evening.
