Monthly tests of campus emergency sirens planned

The Citadel will begin monthly testing of its emergency communications sirens, beginning at approximately noon on Friday, Aug. 1, 2008.

The tests are part of the college’s BulldogAlert emergency notification system. A test of the siren system will be conducted on the first workday of each month. Test dates for the fall semester are:

• Friday, Aug 1
• Monday, Sept. 1
• Wednesday, Oct. 1
• Monday, Nov. 3
• Monday, Dec. 1

The sirens will sound for approximately three minutes and have the potential to be heard throughout many areas of the upper peninsula of Charleston and in some areas West of the Ashley River.
