Greetings from Lt. Gen. and Mrs. John W. Rosa
The Citadel is planning for an eventful Parents’ Weekend October 10-12, and Donna and I want you to be part of it. As the first major event each year, Parents’ Weekend represents a milestone, especially for members of the fourth and first classes. Donna and I treasure the memory of walking through the ring when I was a senior cadet in 1972, and we have special memories of Parents’ Weekend when our son, Brad, was a cadet and received his ring. I hope you will join us and create some special memories of your own.
If your cadet is a member of the fourth class, this weekend will be equally special as it marks an important point in his or her development. You will take pride in seeing how much confidence your cadet has gained from handling the academic and military demands of those first ten weeks.
While it may seem that most of the activity is oriented toward freshmen or seniors, all parents will benefit from attending Parents’ Weekend and I encourage you to join us. This weekend will be an excellent opportunity for you to meet our outstanding faculty and get a better understanding of the academic demands placed on your son or daughter. Our faculty members are anxious to meet you during the academic open houses which will be held on Friday afternoon.
Also on Friday afternoon, I will be briefing you on the state of the college following the reception in Mark Clark Hall and will be glad to take your questions. In the meantime, please review the schedule and plan to arrive early so that you can take advantage of the many activities that will help you better understand your cadet’s Citadel experience.
Donna and I look forward to seeing you on October 10.
