Audrey E. Parrish, Ph.D.

Dr. Parrish is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, specializing in Cognitive Science and Experimental Psychology.  She received her B.S. in Biology from Winthrop University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology from the Cognitive Sciences Program at Georgia State University before joining The Citadel in 2016.  Her research interests include the cognitive and social underpinnings of human and nonhuman primate behavior, including an interest in perception and decision-making and future-oriented cognition (prospective memory, metacognition, and self-control).  Dr. Parrish adopts a developmental and comparative approach to the study of cognition, working with preschool children in daycare settings and also with other primate species, including great apes and monkeys.  Dr. Parrish teaches courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level with the Department of Psychology.
