Dr. Hanchon is Associate Professor of Psychology and the current Director of the Ed.S. School Psychology Program.  Dr. Hanchon also serves as the Coordinator of Practica and Internships for the School Psychology program. He joined the faculty at The Citadel in 2006. Prior to coming to The Citadel, Dr. Hanchon worked as a school psychologist in Indiana as well as a home-based therapist for severely emotionally disturbed children and youth in Michigan.

Dr. Hanchon regularly teaches the School Psychology program's practica courses in addition to coordinating internships. His other teaching interests include cognitive and social-emotional / personality assessment, and human development.

Dr. Hanchon's research interests include current school psychological and training practices, social-emotional learning and its influence on the well-being of the child, and perfectionism.
