Steve A. Nida, Ph.D.

Dr. Nida is Professor of Psychology and head of the department. He has also served as Associate Provost and Dean of The Citadel Graduate College. Dr. Nida is a social psychologist whose specialties are in the areas of social influence and group processes; his current research focuses on the effects of ostracism and social exclusion, and he also maintains an active interest in the social psychological aspects of sport psychology. Dr. Nida currently teaches our graduate and undergraduate courses in social psychology, and in the past he has frequently taught our undergraduate introductory psychology class. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Nida is an avid sports fan, a longtime runner who has completed 14 marathons, and very mediocre guitar player. |
