Captain William F. Graham, USA (1843-1844)
Born in Newberry, South Carolina, on June 15, 1818, William Graham received his early education in Newberry and graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1838. Captain Graham was appointed Superintendent of The Citadel by the Board of Visitors on February 24, 1843. After fourteen months in office, he died of tuberculosis on April 26, 1844.
