Counter insurgency expert coming to The Citadel
A military counter insurgency expert will visit The Citadel on March 15 as part of the Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice’s Symposium on Military Legitimacy and Leadership.
Marine Corps Maj. Ben Connable is an intelligence officer and Middle East Foreign Area Officer (FAO) who has served three tours in Iraq, most recently as the Marine Corps' senior intelligence analyst in country. He is proficient in modern standard Arabic and teaches Iraqi culture to joint audiences. He currently leads the Marine Corps Intelligence Activity Cultural Intelligence Program in Quantico, Va.
Connable will speak at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2007, in Duckett Hall auditorium. It is free and open to the public.
The Symposium on Military Legitimacy and Leadership at The Citadel facilitates debate of American ethical principles and the effects on American military doctrine and tactics. The symposium offers one program each semester.
