Parents' Weekend 2008
Parents from near and far will travel to Charleston and The Citadel Oct. 10-12 for Parents' Weekend 2008.

“Parents’ Weekend is an exciting time for everyone in The Citadel family. There is something for everyone to do and we invite the Charleston community to join us for parades and football, or just come visit the campus for an afternoon," said Lt. Col. Robert Sberna, director of cadet activities. The Department of Cadet Activities is Parents' Weekend central and is located in Mark Clark Hall.
"We are looking forward to our freshman parents returning for the first time since dropping their children off in August. It will be a proud moment for us and them - the knobs will be promoted during the weekend’s festivities," Sberna said. "And we are equally thrilled for our seniors who will mark another milestone in their cadet careers when they receive their rings.”
For the second year the presentation of senior rings will take place in McAlister Field House. The new venue eliminates the need for admission tickets, allowing cadets to invite as many family and friends as they like to attend.
The other major event of the weekend is the promotion of freshmen from cadet recruits to cadet privates and their induction in the South Carolina Corps of Cadets.
In addition, parents are invited to the annual reception with Lt. Gen. John W. Rosa, president of the college; his wife, Donna, and members of the college's staff and faculty. It is a wonderful opportunity to visit the campus and become more familiar with The Citadel, its history and traditions. We look forward to seeing you.
