Major Events
Citadel Cadets are Part of Something Bigger Than Themselves.
As each class bonds in its march to join the Long Gray Line, each cadet gains an understanding that
- the best effort is the only one that counts,
- success comes from consistent, focused attention,
- those who lead must set the example, and
- the right way not the easy way is the path to a fulfilling life.
The Citadel continues to develop principled leaders who are capable, have a sense of duty, and have a willingness to serve. Citadel alumni have fought in every war America has been involved with since the Civil War, and many have made the supreme sacrifice in defense of our freedoms. Developing leaders is not easy, but it is vital to our future.
To celebrate the accomplishments of the cadets, The Citadel holds five major events each year:
Recognition Day in April, and
Graduation Day in May.
