Oral Communications Lab Staff
Gervais Hagerty is the director of The Citadel Oral Communications Lab. The lab doubles as a recording studio and a training room where Mrs. Hagerty coaches Citadel students, faculty and staff to become effective speakers. Mrs. Hagerty holds a B.A. in Psychology from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Business Administration from The Citadel. After working in nonprofit management in California, Mrs. Hagerty studied journalism at UNC Chapel Hill to become a broadcast journalist. She wrote, reported and produced for both radio and television newscasts in the Carolinas. Prior to joining the lab, Mrs. Hagerty worked as a communications strategist for The Citadel's Office of External Affairs.
Andrew Williams is the graduate assistant at The Citadel Oral Communications Lab. Mr. Williams holds a B.A. in English from The College of Charleston. He is currently enrolled in The Citadel's Master of Arts in Teaching program with a major in English. Prior to becoming a GA, Mr. Williams worked as an intern at The Post and Courier.
