Wilcox funeral set for Wednesday 

           Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Summerall Chapel for Cadet Christopher Caswell Wilcox of Isle of Palms, S.C. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at Stuhr's Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.

           Wilcox, 20, died Sunday morning in a single-car accident in rural Georgetown County. According to law enforcement, Wilcox lost control on a curve and the car left the roadway and rolled several times. Wilcox was thrown from the vehicle.

           A junior majoring in political science/law and legal studies, Wilcox was a member of Alpha Company and a squad sergeant. He also was a member of the National Guard, Inn of Court, lacross team and had been named to the 2006 Honor Committee. After graduation in May 2006, Wilcox, who had an Army ROTC scholarship, was planning to be commissioned in the National Guard and attend law school.

           Survivors are his parents, John David Wilcox, Jr., Class of '68, and Karen DuBois Wilcox of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; four brothers, John D Wilcox III of Camden, S.C., James H. Wilcox of Atlanta, Ga., Ashton D. Wilcox and Logan A. Wilcox both of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; paternal grandmother Genevee W.Wilcox of Isle of Palms, S.C.; and maternal grandmother Frances Jan Kirkpatrick of Mount Pleasant, S.C. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John D. Wilcox, Sr. and his maternal grandfather, Harris A. DuBois.

           Gifts may be made in memory of Wilcox to The Citadel Foundation, 171 Moultrie Street, Charleston, S.C. 29409.
