Gospel
music coming to Summerall Chapel Mount Pleasant native Ronald Conyers will perform at a joint Black History Month and Daniel Library Friends event at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005 in Summerall Chapel at The Citadel. Conyers, who started singing when he was 8 years old, has a vocal style reminiscent of a young Sam Cook when the music legend was performing with the Soul Stirrers. Cook has been a tremendous influence on Conyers, whose performances draw on the audience reaction. He will sing solo at this event. "I feel the love and energy from the audience," Conyers said. "It touches my heart to know someone has been touched by my music."
This
event is free and open to the public.
