Legislators honor Grinalds and Mace

The South Carolina General Assembly has honored the president and commandant with concurrent resolutions sponsored by members of The Citadel caucus in the House. The resolutions praised the work of Major General John Grinalds, president of The Citadel since 1997, and Brigadier General Emory Mace, commandant during that same period. Both men are stepping down this summer.

Sponsors of the resolution included Representatives Gene Pinson '72 (Greenwood), James Battle '64 (Marion), Richard Chalk '74 (Beaufort), Converse Chellis '65 (Charleston-Dorchester), Creighton Coleman '79 (Chester-Fairfield), Greg Delleney'74 (Chester-York), Jim Harrison '73 (Richland), Chip Limehouse (Berkeley-Charleston), Rubin Rivers '69 (Beauford-Hampton-Jasper), Wallace Scarborough '81 (Charleston), Ted Vick '95 (Chesterfield) and Thad Viers '99 (Horry).
