Fish fry set to benefit child with brain tumor
Employees from Human Resources, the Physical Plant and other departments on campus are joining together to hold a fish fry at noon on Friday to raise money for an employee's daughter who is battling brain cancer. All proceeds will go to help pay for medical expenses for the daughter of Solomon Gibbs, a Physical Plant employee.
The lunch will be held at The Citadel Boat House from 12 noon till 2 p.m. Organizers are asking for a minimum donation of $5 per plate for the meal that includes fried fish or fried chicken along with red rice, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, cole slaw and drinks.
To help those on campus get to and from the boat house and minimize traffic congestion, a bus will run from the Boat House to Bond Hall and Mark Clark Hall every five minutes between noon and 1:45.
Meals will be available for takeout and there will also be a tent with seating on the premises.
Individuals unable to attend the lunch may still contribute at The Citadel Treasurer's Office by contacting Bambi Conrad.
