 Two added to commandant's search committee

           Two people have been added to the commandant’s search committee and one of the original members has been asked to serve instead on the committee that will search for a new president. The new commandant search committee members are Major General Art Baiden, AUS (Retired) ‘62 and Robert Pickering ‘94.

           Jack Douglas ’92, an original member of the commandant's search committee, is moving to the presidential search committee.

           Baiden is a member of The Citadel Board of Visitors, a retired businessman and the former president of The Citadel Alumni Association.

           Robert Pickering is the director of multicultural studies and ombudsman at The Citadel. He is a former assistant director of admissions.

           Other members on the commandant’s search committee include Ed Steers, Jim Openshaw, Hedy Pinkerton, Michael Barrett and Jeff Weart. The committee is chaired by Harry Carter, professor of business and former provost.
