 Citadel cheerleaders organize day clinic for kids

           The Citadel Cheerleading Squad will hold its third annual cheerleading clinic on Saturday, Feb. 19 at the Altman Athletic Center near Johnson Hagood Stadium.

           The clinic is open
to children ages 5 through 10 (up to 5th grade). Cost is $30 and includes lunch, a T-shirt and admission to The Citadel vs. Elon basketball game where participants will perform at halftime.

           Registration deadline is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9. Registration forms are available in the Citadel athletic ticket office on the first floor of McAlister Field House or by emailing a request for a form to This email address is being protected from spambots.            The cheerleading clinic helps support scholarships for Citadel cadet cheerleaders.

           From 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the day of the camp children will learn cheers, dances and the half-time routine that they will perform at the 1 p.m. basketball game. Parents of clinic participants can purchase discount game tickets at the ticket office.

           "Each year the cheerleading clinic grows and we are grateful for the turnout and the support of Citadel cheerleading," said coach Brittany Meyers.
