Top cadets for 2005-2006 announced


           The top eight ranking cadets for the upcoming 2005-2006 academic year and 18 new company commanders were recently announced at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. These student military officers, all of which are rising seniors, will lead the approximately 1,900 members of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets this coming fall.

  The top eight ranking cadets are:

  • Regimental Commander Fredrick Ogden Nash, Hilton Head Island, S.C.
  • Regimental Executive Officer Matthew Bartomeo, Myrtle Beach, S.C.
  • 1st Battalion Commander Jonathan David Lovette, Summerville, S.C.
  • 2nd Battalion Commander John Nichols McComas, Guyanbo, Puerto Rico
  • 3rd Battalion Commander Matthew Joseph Henfey, Philadelphia, Pa.
  • 4th Battalion Commander Harry Frederick Zinsser III, Melbourne, Fla.
  • Regimental Academic Officer Morgan P. Cina, Valencia, Calif.
  • Honor Chairman William Dean Westmoreland, Greer, S.C.

           Each battalion is composed of four to five companies with a total of 450 to 500 cadets in each battalion.

           Company commanders for the upcoming year are:
