Phi Kappa Phi inducts news members
The Citadel's Chapter of the national honor society of Phi Kappa Phi celebrated its 25th anniversary this year by initiating 79 new members April 25 in Summerall Chapel.
Charter members, past presidents and distinguished alumni were recognized. Dr. A. Wayne Lacy, Southeastern regional vice president of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, attended for the fifth consecutive year. Lt. Col. John S. Carter is president. Billy Jenkinson, chairman of The Citadel Board of Visitors, spoke at the banquet, which was held in the Holliday Alumni Center.
Jenkinson, Class of 1958 and Marc F. Settin, Class of 1980, were initiated as distinguished alumni. William B. Hewitt, founding chairman of The Citadel School of Business Administration board, was honored with a Distinguished Service Award.
Faculty members include Lt. Col. Spencer P. Hurd, professor of mMathematics and computer science; Maj. Keith Nathaniel Knapp, professor of History; and Lt. Col. A. Bruce Strauch, professor, School of Business Administration.
