Citadel Gospel Choir picked to perform at Disney

The Citadel Gospel Choir will travel to Orlando, Fla., this month to perform at Disney World.

The choir will perform at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, April 17 at the Dock Stage in Downtown Disney.

The choir was selected following an online application and video audition for the
Magic Music Days program. The program allows youth bands and choral groups to audition for performance slots at the Disney complex. The Citadel Gospel Choir learned in late February it had been selected.

"The Disney World performance is the cornerstone of our spring tour," said faculty advisor Capt. Licia Calloway, assistant professor of English. "We also have performances planned for a middle school and church in Savannah, and at the Edgewood Children's Ranch and a high school in the Orlando area."

Under the direction of Director Charles McDonald and choir president Michael Taylor, the touring choir will also include Marcus Ashby, Ashlee Anthony-Miller, Michael Ballentine, Monesha Booker, Stanley Brown, Jamaul Chapman, Miriam Crawford, Samuel Davis, Anyanime Edem, James Elliott, Shaun Futch, Jessica Garris, Shawn Grant, Donald Damaria Green, Maria Gisell Green, Kathleen Huff, Quiota Jones, Jermaine Joyner, Whitney Lee, Ferres Lumpkin, George Moultrie, Marcus Peel-Cooke, Jonathan Pereira, Thomas Pressley, Israel Ray, Travis Roan, Marvin Skipper, Jared Stakelin, Jimmy Stewart, Opal Vaughn and Jessica Walters.
