The Citadel to host digital workshop for Charleston County teachers

          The Lowcountry Writing Project at The Citadel will offer a workshop to help teachers use digital photography in the classroom.

          "Using Digital Cameras in the Classroom" is open to all K-12 teachers in the Charleston County School District. The workshop will be Dec. 5 and 6 at Pinckney Elementary School in Mt. Pleasant. Participants will learn the basics of digital photography, how to use digital images in print documents and PowerPoint presentations, and how to use digital technology to encourage student writing.

          Cost is $300, which includes a Sony digital camera and eight hours of instruction to meet the state's technology proviso.

          The session on Friday, Dec. 5 is from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in room 303 at Pinckney Elementary.
