Kimball introduces Roosevelt and Churchill

The Citadel’s Mark Clark Professor of History, Dr. Warren Kimball, will deliver a lecture entitled, “Roosevelt and Churchill: Introducing the Second World War to the Next Generation.” The talk will begin at 6:30 p.m., Nov. 18, in Bond Hall 165.

Kimball is one of the nation’s leading diplomatic historians specializing in the era of World War II. He is the author of many books, the most recent being Forged War: Roosevelt, Churchill and the Second World War. He also participates in on-going research in the history of U.S. foreign policy in the era of the World War II.

The General Mark Clark Chair of History was established in 1982 in honor of Gen. Mark Clark, the 11th president of the military college and a war hero whose service in the U.S. Army spanned 40 years. During World War II, Clark was commander of Allied troops that liberated Rome in 1944.

Kimball’s lecture is free and open to the public. For more information, call The Citadel History Department at 843-953-5073.
