MBA students to study in Austria
Students from The Citadel Master of Business Administration program will be studying at the University of Innsbruck in Austria this summer for three weeks as part of a joint program with Stetson University (DeLand, Fla.), the University of Innsbruck, and The Citadel.
School of business professor Lt. Col. Donald Sparks, who has taught in the Innsbruck program for the past three summers, will lead the group. The focus of the study will be on globalization and the opportunities and challenges facing American business firms in the European environment.
“The Citadel’s MBA program is the Lowcountry’s only locally-delivered internationally-accredited program,” said Sparks, “and this initiative furthers its goal of internationalizing its curricula.”
Sparks, whose specialty is international economics, has been at The Citadel since 1986. After the Innsbruck program’s conclusion, Sparks will be traveling to the University of Swaziland in Africa where he has received a Fulbright grant to help establish a graduate program in economics.
Students interested in participating in the Innsbruck program should contact The Citadel College of Graduate and Professional Studies at 953-5089.
