Citadel cadets to appear on TV

          Citadel cadets will travel to Darlington, S.C., Labor Day weekend for the Mountain Dew Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway.

          Nine cadets from The Military College of South Carolina will form a color guard, displaying the flags of the United States, State of South Carolina, the four branches of the Armed Services and the South Carolina Corps of Cadets during the singing of the National Anthem.

          The Mountain Dew Southern 500 will be broadcast 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1 on TNT on cable. The pre-race show starts at 12:30 p.m.
