Release Citadel Cheerleaders organize first day clinic for kids The Citadel Cheerleading Squad will hold its first cheerleading clinic on Saturday, Feb 8 at the Altman Athletic Center near Johnson Hagood Stadium. The clinic is open to all children ages 5 through 10 (up to 5th grade). Cost is $25 and includes lunch and a T-shirt. "This clinic is a first for our cheerleading squad and we hope to make it an annual event," said Coach Brittany Meyers. From 10 a.m. to noon children will learn cheers, dances and a half-time routine that they will perform during the Feb. 8 Citadel vs. University of Tennessee-Chattanooga basketball game, which begins at 1 p.m. in McAlister Field House. Money raised will go toward establishing a scholarship program for Citadel cheerleaders. "We are building our program now and the scholarship will help us recruit experienced athletes to support Citadel sports and to serve as ambassadors for the college," Meyers said. "We hope to have a lot of children join us Feb. 8 for a day of fun." For
