The Corps of Cadets celebrates Christmas

The South Carolina Corps of Cadets will present the annual Christmas Candlelight service to the Lowcountry Dec. 7, 8, and 9 in Summerall Chapel on The Citadel campus at 7:30 p.m. There is no charge for the hour-long program. Donations are accepted.

Cadets from the Chorale, Protestant, Catholic, and Gospel choirs as well as members of the Citadel Band celebrate the birth of Christ, observing the events of the Advent, the Annunciation, the Birth of the King, and Epiphany through Scripture lessons and carols. Traditional and international favorites will be sung, and special highlights will include the Procession of Lights.

Nancy Lefter, director of Chorale Activities, Col. Mark A. Bebensee, organist, and Maj. Herbert Day, director of music (The Citadel Regimental Band) work very hard with the cadets to make sure the Candlelight Service is an inspirational ceremony.

Flash cameras and video lights are not permitted. For more information, please call (843) 953-5049.
