Citadel names new director of alumni affairs

The Citadel has named Michael F. Rogers director of alumni affairs and career services and executive director of The Citadel Alumni Association (CAA). Rogers replaces Henry A. (Bubba) Kennedy who retired Jan. 31.

Rogers graduated from The Citadel in 1970 with a bachelor of arts degree in political science. He served in the Air Force as an investigative unit commander in Bangkok, Thailand; a field office commander at Kennedy Space Center; and a detachment commander at Homestead Air Force Base in Fla.

In 1979, he left the Air Force to pursue a career with the FBI. His service as a special agent included manager of the Washington Field Office Communications Center and senior investigator in the National Security Divisionboth in the Washington, D.C., office. He also held two elective officeschairman of the Special Agents Advisory Committee and office representative of the FBI Agents Association.

Rogers has been very involved in the CAA, The Citadel Brigadier Foundation, and The Citadel Family Association. Not surprisingly, he lists "recruiting young men and women to attend The Citadel" as one of his interests.
