The
Citadel Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is holding
a workshop and trade show for Lowcountry GIS users.
GISGeographic
Information Systemsis a computer-based mapping and database system
that allows governments to integrate data to evaluate a wide range of
urban and land management matters. Input data includes aerial photographs,
satellite images, GPS (Global Positioning System) data, and traditional
survey data.
The event,
which is free and open to the public, will include technical presentations
as well as vendor displays and will give Lowcountry GIS users an opportunity
to discuss current issues, applications, and technology.
