Lecture and Book Signing at The Citadel
by noted author of The Devil and a Good Woman Too: The Lives of Julia Peterkin

          Dr. Susan Millar Williams, author and professor of English, will discuss her book, "The Devil and a Good Woman Too: The Lives of Julia Peterkin," on March 10 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Mark Clark Hall on The Citadel campus. The lecture is part of the College of Graduate and Professional Studies Senior Scholars Program and is free and open to the public.

          Williams, who received her Ph.D. in English from Louisiana State University in 1984, has been the executive director of the McClellanville Arts Council since 1990 and on faculty at Trident Technical College since 1996. In 1998 she was received the Julia Cherry Spruill Award from the Southern Association of Women Historians for the best work published in Southern women’s history.

          After the lecture, Dr. Williams will be available to sign copies of the book.
