Mr.
Carl Jefferson, a supply specialist in procurement services, was
named
Employee of the Year at The Citadel
on Friday, April 23 during a scheduled ceremony at the Corps of
Cadets afternoon dress parade. Maj. Gen. John S. Grinalds,
president of The Citadel, presented Mr. Jefferson with a plaque
for his outstanding service. After the ceremony, a reception was
held in Mr. Jeffersons honor at Quarters One.
Bringing more than 20 years experience as an Army supply technician, Carl Jefferson began working at The Citadel in September 1997. Among his duties, he is responsible for making more than 15,000 deliveries annually throughout the campus. He has consistently received accolades for his work as well as praise for his pleasant disposition.
In addition to a certificate and a plaque, Mr. Jefferson received a $200 U.S. Savings Bond; a weekend for two in Asheville, N.C., including two tickets to Biltmore House and Gardens; season basketball tickets for two; a designated parking space on campus for one year; and gift certificates from The Citadel book store, tailor shop, laundry, and gift shop totaling $150.
A native of Mt. Pleasant, he was born the 13th of 19 children on January 22, 1955. His parents, Andrew and Marie Jefferson, live in Mt. Pleasant.
