CADET RECEIVES AWARD, MOST IMPROVED AND SOLDIERLY SENIOR

Charleston, S.C.- Citadel Cadet Capt. Aaron Green will receive the MacArthur Cadet of the Year Award Friday, February 20, during the afternoon dress parade at The Citadel.

The MacArthur award is presented to a senior cadet who demonstrates outstanding qualities in academic, military, and athletic endeavors. Only one cadet from each institution represented in the Association of Military Colleges is bestowed this honor.

Aaron Green is the commanding officer of Oscar company. He has been a recipient of Gold Stars five times-achieving academic excellence above the Dean's List. Captain of The Citadel's football team and two year varsity letterman in track, Green also participates in the Big Brother Buddy Program at the college.

Major General John S. Grinalds, president of the college, will present Green with an engraved replica of the medal struck by Congress in 1962 honoring the memory of Gen. Douglas MacArthur, a cadet uniform emblem, a check, and a copy of MacArthur's autobiography, "Reminiscences."

Cadet Green, majoring in business administration, is scheduled to graduate in May. He is the son of Ms. Gail Green of Hinesville, Georgia.
