CHARLESTON, S.C. (March 28)--Dr. Gene Meadows of The Citadel's Department of Education has been selected by the American Counseling Association to receive the 1996 Distinguished Professional Service Award. The award recognizes outstanding local and national contributions to the counseling profession.
The Association's nominating committee emphasized Dr. Meadows' "tireless efforts" during thirty years of college counseling service. The committee noted that "throughout that time, his work has benefitted students, institutions, and the field."
