CHARLESTON, S.C., 12 March.--Two hundred elementary and high school students will converge on The Citadel tomorrow morning for the college's 5th annual Rocket Event.
This year's event will feature the launching and tracking of a weather balloon, several rocket demonstrations, a weather satellite van, and a presentation by meterologist Bill Walsh of Channel 5.
Demonstrations begin at 9 a.m. on Summerall Field on The Citadel campus and will continue until noon. Sponsored by The Citadel's Department of Physics, the 1996 Rocket Event will be attended by students from Buist Academy, James Island Elementary, Belle Hall Elementary, and James Island High, and by a group of presenting enginners from NISE Ease of North Charleston.
All events are open to the public.
