CHARLESTON, SC (Jan. 8)--Dr. Angie Whaley Le Clercq has been named Director of The Citadel's Daniel Library. She formerly held the post of Head of User Education and Assistant to the Dean of Libraries at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, after 25 years of service.

     A native of Charleston, Dr. Le Clercq attended Ashley Hall and received her bachelor's degree from Duke University. She earned a Master's in Librarianship from Emory University, and a law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law.

     Dr. Le Clercq is known for her writings in the field of librarianship, especially in the areas of technology and copyright issues. The University of South Carolina Press will publish her most recent work, Life on an Ante-Bellum Low Country Plantation, in the fall of 1996.
