CHARLESTON, SC (Jan. 3, 1996)--Col. Charles B. Reger, USAF, Retired, has been named Executive Assistant to the President at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.
As Executive Assistant, Reger is one of the principal advisors to the President and is responsible for ensuring that the President's directives and policies are executed. Col. Reger will continue to serve also as Director of Human Resources for the college until a replacement is selected.
A native of Camden, Col. Reger graduated from Camden High in 1963 and The Citadel in 1967. He earned a masters degree in public administration from Southwest Texas State University. After joining the Air Force in 1967, Reger completed Squadron Officers School, Air Command and Staff College, and Air War College.
During his twenty-five year career in the Air Force, Col. Reger served at various bases, including the Air Force Military Personnel Center, the U.S. Air Force Headquarters at the Pentagon, and the Tactical Air Command Headquarters. His awards include the Legion of Merit, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and the Air Force Commendation Medal.
Col. Reger and his wife Mary have two daughters, Marissa Reger and Mary Ann Ranguette. Reger's parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.B. Reger, reside on Welsh
Street in Camden.
