CADETS CLEAN UP IN RECORD-BREAKING NUMBERS

CHARLESTON, S.C. (April 10)--The Citadel's Corps of Cadets, representing the largest group ever to participate in Charleston's annual Clean City Sweep, will clean up seventeen different neighborhoods this Saturday. Patrolling West Ashley, Mount Pleasant, and downtown Charleston, seventeen 70-man cadet companies will pick up litter and debris from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

"The Corps is really one of the largest groups in the nation" to participate in Glad Bag's Clean Up America Campaign, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said. Charleston's Clean City Sweep is an extension of Glad's campaign.

The Corps of Cadets is the only college organization in Charleston to volunteer for this important community service.

Note: Cadet volunteers will be wearing the PT uniform--dark blue T-shirts and shorts.
