MISS TEEN AMERICA TO VISIT DURING CORPS DAY

CHARLESTON, S.C.,(Mar. 15)--Robin Briggs, Miss Teen America 1994, will visit The Citadel and attend several events during Corps Day Weekend, the four- day anniversary celebration of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets.

     Briggs will be a special guest at the Marion Square dress parade at the Old Citadel at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, Mar. 16, which commemorates the founding of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets.

     She will serve on the panel of judges for The Citadel Talent Show at 7:30 p.m. in McAlister Field House. The Talent Show is open to the public and tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door for $2. Contact 953-5111 for more information.

     Briggs will be recognized at Friday's dress parade of the Corps of Cadets at 3:45 p.m. on Summerall Field. The dress parade will feature the presentation of the Brigadier Foundation President's Award, which goes to the outstanding athlete of the senior class as voted by his classmates.

     Briggs, a native of Omaha, Neb., is a sophomore at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She majors in journalism and plans to pursue a career in broadcasting and investigative journalism. Briggs is also interested in attending law school to study environmental law.
