CHARLESTON, S.C., June 12--Col. Terry Leedom, USAR, has been hired as the Acting Public Relations Director at The Citadel effective today, June 12. He succeeds Maj. Rick Mill, USMCR, who resigned after two and a half years in the post.
The president of The Citadel, Lt. Gen. Claudius E. Watts III, said, "Major Mill has done a great job as Public Relations Director during a period when the college has been the focus of world-wide attention. We will miss him but wish him the best of luck in his professional career. We welcome Colonel Leedom who brings to The Citadel more than 20 years of experience in the public relations field."
Previously, Leedom was head of corporate communications at Georgia Power Company in Atlanta, Ga. Later, he was vice president for communications at the Columbus Gas Distribution Companies in Columbus, Ohio.
Leedom retired from the Army Reserve in 1992. He served four years of active duty in the Army and has held public affairs assignments in Europe. Leedom is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
Leedom received a bachelor's degree in journalism from Ohio University and worked in the field as a television reporter, radio talk show host and
public relations consultant.
